The Richmond Joint Engineers’ Council is an all-volunteer coalition of engineering, scientific and technical societies in the Richmond / Petersburg Metropolitan Areas of Virginia. RJEC promotes Engineering Education, and provides a vehicle to disseminate knowledge and information relating the art and science of engineering to its member societies and the general public. |

Engineers Week 2008
Engineers Week was observed Feb 17-23, 2008. At the annual banquet on Thursday Feb. 21st at The Hotel Jefferson, Eugene S. Grecheck - Vice President-Nuclear Development- Dominion Generation was the featured speaker.
The award was given for Engineer of the Year to Dr. Jennifer Wayne of VCU. She was honored for her work in biomedical engineering and orthopedic surgery.
Qimonda received the Community Service award in recognition of their efforts to assist the youth of the Richmond area to discover rewarding careers in Engineering and Technology. This recognition included Quimonda’s work with First Robotics which also received a check from RJEC in support of their program
If you would like to nominate someone or some organization for next years’ awards, forms are available on this website. Several other contests were held in conjunction with Engineers Week. This year we added a video essay to the engineering essay contest.
